We recently collaborated with VTPro Design to create scenic “armor” cladding to functional robots! These bots were shipped around the world in the fall of 2024 as literal “walking advertisements” to promote the 2025 film, The Electric State, starring Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby Brown.

The metal structures and designs were modeled and fabricated by VTPro and we provided carbon fiber 3D printed parts, paint and scenic treatment to each one. We worked closely with our fabrication partner to split all of the elements into sections for ease of manufacturing.

Having existed in the story’s post apocalyptic world, our painters designed a treatment to show years of rust and decay on the bots. Each part is made up of multiple layers, colors, chipping and washes to create the in-universe look and feel. Given that these pieces were going to be walking amongst the audience, we had to ensure a level of hero-quality, close-up detail in every piece and paint decision.
